It was just a matter of time
Inspired by the most iconic pedal of all timeTweaked just right
The Envy Pro Overdrive is inspired by the various versions of that ever polarizing green stompbox. We aren't trying to reinvent the wheel, but give you the best that this circuit has to offer.
With it's increased output, expanded drive range, and thickened low end the Envy takes the TS formula and makes it more useful for every player, regardless of style.
Push it real good
We wanted to give the Envy more options than just 3 knobs and decided on something fun and slightly different, push buttons! The Lows and Clip buttons offer quick adjustments of the circuits most oft tweaked parameters.
With the buttons up the circuit is a more traditional voiced TS style drive. With Lows engaged you increase the amount of low end for a fuller overall sound. When the Clip button is pushed the diodes are disengaged for a louder, less compressed, more open sound.
Through Hole Heart
At the core of the Envy Pro Overdrive is a socketed RC4558P Dual Op Amp chip. We did this for one very important reason, experimentation. Zach has said on many occasions that Dual Op Amps don't sound all that different but if you want to experiment with different chips you can do that in the Envy pretty painlessly.
RC4558, JRC4558, TL072, OP275, OPA2604, LM1458N the list goes on!
